Jubilee pilgrimage and anniversary Mass

Mary Weaver, the Province’s communications director, and I have been working with Fathers Allman, Dabney, Gargani, Kingsbury, and Murray to promote the icon’s 150th anniversary of being entrusted to the Congregation.

Departing on Monday, June 20, 2016, and continuing for 10 days, we plan to host a pilgrimage to Italy. Our group will visit a number of important Marian and Redemptorist sites, culminating with a visit to the Church of Sant’Alfonso for the close of the jubilee year.

Note that we’re offering incentives to encourage pilgrimage registrations:

  1. a free trip on the pilgrimage for any confrere or lay colleague who registers eight paying pilgrims and
  2. a seven-day Holland America Caribbean cruise for two to the confrere or lay colleague who registers the most paying pilgrims.

On Saturday, September 17, 2016, the North American Conference will host a special Mass at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. It’s hoped that our parishes and retreat houses will send busloads of pilgrims to honor Our Mother of Perpetual Help. A reception and dinner will follow on the Catholic University campus.

Details on these events will be provided on the Province website and in upcoming issues of Perpetual Help magazine and The Chronicle. In the meantime, please note the dates on your calendar.
